Mid century ‘Cocoon’ pendant lamp, Goldkant Leuchten, Germany, 1960s

Mid-Century Modern Cocoon pendant lamp by Goldkant Leuchten, designed by Friedel Wauer in the 1960s.

These lamps, known as ‘Cocoon’ lamps, give a diffused, atmospheric light because of the synthetic resin the shade is made of.

The manufacturer, Goldkant, is known for various Cocoon lamp designs from the 1960s and 70s.  Goldkant designs are often attributed to Castiglioni, as the designs are very similar.

The lamp is in a good condition with signs of use and patina. Some darker spots as you can see on the images. Newly wired.
