Beautiful painting by Hermanus Adrianus Charles ‘Herman’ Bogman junior (The Hague, 1890-1975).
Till the age of 50, Herman Bogman jr. was primarily known for his still lifes and cityscapes in oil paint which were characterised by its subtle colors and pure lighting. After that, het started to paint watercolor works. In a short period of time, he became one of the most renown watercolor painters of his time, capable of obtaining the same weigh and depth with watercolor paint as with oil paint.
This watercolor painting is a good example of his great talent to give depth to a painting while using watercolor paint.
The work is signed H Bogman jr in the lower right corner, Nor dated but probably from the 50/60s.
Framed with glass.
In a good condition; some dark dots which you can see in the images.
