Christian Herzig was born in 1975 in Bad Salzungen.

Herzig studied at the Academy of Arts in Leipzig from 2002 till 2009. As of 2005 he attended de classes of  Prof. Neo Rauch.

The Leipzig painter gets his inspiration from nature. These impressions he transforms into colourfull compositions of which some are taken out of its original context and places them in their own new reality.

The works of Christian Herzig have been presented several time in expositions and renown galeries all over the world.
