Great painting with an impressive wooden frame with a golden finish. Painting represents a classic theme of a pensive woman painted in a modernistic style. Against a background which is build-up a s an abstract-lineair composition. Strong lines and colours and cubic forms. The stylized face reminds one of the women of Picasso in his period before cubisme. Could well be that Hoffman was inspired by his paintings, like so many others.

Great piece of European Modernisme.

The work itself is in a good condition. Its frame has some pieces pâte that are a bit loose which you can see if you look at all images.
