Rare set of two armchairs produced by Ligna Thonet, 1940/50s, Czech Republic

Rare set of two armchairs produced by Ligna Thonet. Made of a wooden frame with a great design as its armrests and hind legs are made out of one piece. Backrest and seat upholstered with a bordeaux-red faux-leather which has damage (at least at one chair, see images).

Chairs are probably designed in the 1930s. It has both a paper Thonet label and a Ligna (Ligna was an after World War II nationalized Thonet factory) stamp underneath the seat and therefore was likely produced in the late 40s / early 50s.

Wood could be polished a bit to bring it more to live and re-upholstering would be a good thing. Then you really have a unique and amazing set of chairs.
