Hollywood Regency style coffee table, design Peter Ghyczy for Studio Ghyzcy, 1970s

Beautiful large and heavy coffee table (model T14) designed in Hollywood Regency style by Peter Ghyczy (German designer, born in Budapest 1940) for Studio Ghyczy in the 70s. The table has a very thick, clear glass top which is supported by brass legs which hold the Ghyczy brand mark on the inside (see images).

For this coffee table , which belongs to the so called ‘Pioneer Series’ from the 70s, the designer has used a special technique he developed himself, to fix the glass to the brass/metal legs. This technique has become Ghyczy’s signature and can be characterised by the delicate and floating appearance of the frameless glass, secured with only one single screw.
