Pair of brutalist wall lamps, T. Røste & Co, design Birger Hammerstad (attr.), 1960s, Norway

Pair of elegant and rare wall lamps from the Norwegian manufacturer T. Røste & Co, probably designed by Birger Hammerstad.

These lamps are a good example of Norwegian post-war design, where industrial metal merges with artistically pressed glass. The glass shade is cube-shaped and made of thick, smoked pressed glass with geometric shapes in relief. When the lamp is lit, it emits a soft, atmospheric light. The wall mount and arm are made of dark lacquered metal with a clear, contemporary patina.
