Rare (large) Thonet arm chair, model 6578, 1900s, Gebrüder Thonet, Austria

Stunning, very rare (large) Thonet arm chair.

In the Thonet catalogue of 1900, registered as model 6578.

The paper label shows the Gebrüder Thonet logo which proves its age.

This model is eye-catching because of its large size, it is larger than a normal side or dining chair. Above that, it has striking armrests with great decorative round shaped bentwooden parts.

Cane webbing on seat has been professionally renewed in the old-fashioned way, as the original. Backrest was in a good condition and didn’t need replacement.
