Sculptural, wooden chair after a design of Gerrit Rietveld

Vintage wooden sculptural armchair after the famous Red and Blue or Rietveld chair by Gerrit Rietveld (1888-1964).

Original design from approx. 1918-1923 by furniture maker and architect Gerrit Rietveld.

This geometric composed chair with its primary colors is typical for the Dutch movement ‘De Stijl’.

The chair offered here is from an unknown maker, probably from the 60/70s based on the wear of the wood and ageing of the paint. Originating from an auction house.  See all images for a good impression.
