Great pair of easy chairs designed by renown designer Kho Liang le for Artifort in the 60s. This chair is known as model 024 as is characterized by a minimalistic frame of chromed metal with black painted slats to hold the cushions. The cushions are upholstered with a dark brown woolen fabric. Heavy, solid quality. Timeless design.

Outside of the Netherlands, Dutch designer Kho Liang Ie is best known for his work at Artifort, as well as his interiors for the Schipol airport in Amsterdam (1967). To the Dutch, however, he’s considered one of the most significant talents of 20th-century design, and a prestigious design award was named in his honor.

Much too young, Kho Liang Ie died in January, 1975. His designs, however, live on the collections of many important Dutch museums, including Museum of Boijmans Van Beuningen (Rotterdam), Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), and Museum Catharijneconvent (Utrecht).

Condition: In good solid condition. Frame has some patina and the black lacker of the wooden slats have some signs of wear on the sides/edges. This is not disturbing, especially since there are cushions on the slats. See all images for a good impression.
