About the artist:
Theodorus Antonius Wilhelmus (Ted) Felen (Nijmegen, 1931-2016) was a Dutch stained glass artist, graphic artist, mosaic artist, painter and gallery owner.
Initially Felen worked figuratively, later he started making more abstract work, in which the sun and the universe play a major role and from the 1960s onwards cell-like structures.
Stained glass work comprises more than half of his oeuvre, but Felen also made gouaches, oil paintings, Stations of the Cross, mosaics, murals, silkscreen prints and linocuts.
Felen was a member of the Community of Visual Artists Nijmegen. In the 1960s he was co-founder of the artists’ group Nada, of which Jan Cremer, Klaas Gubbels, Mark Brusse and Rik van Bentum were also members
