Building upon classic designs by Charles Eames, Arne Jacobsen and Norman Cherner, Ross Lovegrove created the organic and sculptural Orbit stacking chair. Ross Lovegrove (British, born 1958), is a well known designer who worked among others for Knoll international and who started Studio X in London in 1990. The Orbit chair can be characterised by a unique design which uses forms familiar from nature as its point of departure. The Orbit chairs are either in plywood or strong plastic in various bold colours. This set has a chrome base and seating and backrest made of black plastic. Chairs are made in the USA by Bernhardt Design. Chairs have attribution marks underneath their seats.
