Beautiful set of 4 armchairs known as model 209 or the Wiener Stühl. Designed by J&J Kohn/ Thonet around 1900. This set has brand marks underneath its seat (LIGNA, which was a former – after World War II – nationalised Thonet factory). Black stained, bentwooden frame with a seat of woven cane/wicker (webbing). This model became well known as French designer Le Corbusier marked it as one of his favorites and used it in his interior projects.

The set is in a good vintage condition with just normal signs of usage. One chair has new screws at the sides of its seat. See all images.
