Side or coffee table, model T53 Pioneer Series, Peter Ghyczy, 1970s

Beautiful coffee or side table, known as model T53 from the ‘Pioneer Series’ by Peter Ghyczy (German designer, born in Budapest in 1940). The Pioneer Series is characterized by the new way of fixing the thick glass to metal which is exemplified particularly through the delicate, floating appearance of the frameless glass. The technique he used has since become Ghyczy’s signature.  Its brass base holds the Ghyczy brand mark.

The table is in a good vintage condition with only minimal signs of usage.
